After her 20+ years in Adventure Tourism and the Spa industry, she is also an Aesthetician, she return home to complete her Massage Therapy Diploma at Canadian College of Massage + Hydrotherapy in 2016, she specialized in Sports & Neurological massage.

In 2017 Karen completed all her levels in Ashiatsu Barefoot Massage from The Canadian Institute of Ashiatsu Massage Therapy, being the first person to bring Ashiatsu to Northern Nova Scotia.

In 2018 she created Siesta Massage & Wellness that started off as a Retreat & Corporate event business focusing on Yogassage, Ashiatsu and outdoor activities. Siesta has also become the full time Massage Therapy Clinic that is home to her many awesome patients.
